The Writers for Peace Committee of PEN International, in collaboration with Slovenian PEN, have announced the programme for their 45th annual conference, which will take place in Bled, Slovenia, from 8-12th May 2013.
This year's Conference will focus on the themes of Literary Creation: From the Periphery to the Centre and The Writer as a Traveller Creating Peace, and aims to be a "laboratory of ideas" where writers from around the world can discuss their role in creating inter-cultural dialogue and working towards peace and reconciliation.
The Conference will also include sessions focused on The Role of PEN International Today and in the Future and will bring together the four Committees of PEN International to discuss key challenges faced by writers today and how these can be addressed.
The official languages of the conference will be English, French and Slovene.
