PEN launches a new blog celebrating linguistic diversity, PEN on the Move

PEN on the Move is the blog where Carles Torner, PEN International's Executive Director, shares his reflections and thoughts arising from the mission of PEN International. Carles Torner writes about work carried out by PEN centres as well as PEN missions and congresses from the unique perspective of an insider with the distinctive voice of a writer active in PEN since 1992.

The latest entry explores PEN's contributions to the Universal Declaration of Linguistic Rights and how Tibetan PEN Centre in Exile meet oppression with 'indestructible compassion'.

In the blog, you will find posts in the four languages spoken by the Executive Director (English, Catalan, French and Spanish) in reflection of the defence of linguistic rights promoted by PEN International. Torner also gives the floor to PEN members who explain a particular project they are conducting or taking part in to allow a better understanding of how the core principles of the association are pursued through campaigns around the world.
