The PEN International Translation & Linguistic Rights Committee (PI TLRC) is hosting its annual meeting in 2020 online. The online Annual meeting will offer the opportunity to review the work done by the T&LR Committee in the last six years and to prepare the strategic planning for 2020-2023.

At the meeting, the elections for the chairperson of the TRLC will take place.

12:30 – Opening the meeting (practice room and free chat) (25 mins)

14:00 – New centres present themselves

Chiapas and Quechua aspiring Centers’ presentation (15 + 15 mins)

14:30 – Elections opening (30 mins):

Candidates’ presentation

Voting (one voice for Centre; anonymous)

15:00 – Centres’ update (45 min; 3 min each centre)

Discussion (15 min)

* The delegates who wish to speak must send their interventions before 10 October (max. 500 words). The centres are responsible to provide themselves the translation in English, French and Spanish to be projected during the presentation of their delegates.

16:00 – Announcing of elections results

Practical information

The sessions will be held online as a closed, invitation-only meeting. Further details and technical information will be communicated to confirmed participants closer to the meeting.

The sessions will be recorded by the Secretariat for reporting purposes only and will not be broadcast or published later.

The consultation is organised under the Chatham House Rule, and participants are not allowed to record.

The registration deadline is October 10, 2020. No last-minute registration will be admitted.
