Uganda: PEN International is deeply concerned about the brutal attack on board member Danson Kahyana

29 April: PEN International is deeply disturbed by a violent attack on board member Dr Danson Kahyana on Tuesday evening, 26 April 2022. Kahyana was viciously assaulted by unknown assailants on his way home on Tuesday in Kampala, Uganda.

While PEN International believes the cause for the attack was primarily to rob Kahyana of his possessions, concerns have been raised after Kahyana’s Gmail was also hacked – implying more sinister connotations.

PEN International hopes for Kahyana’s rapid recovery and calls for the perpetrators to be found and brought to justice.
