Supporting Writers in Danger

Our Crisis Appeal is raising critical funds in response to a steep rise in people seeking our support. Today, more than ever, we urgently need your donations to help writers under serious threat.

In 2022 we helped more than 100 people from our priority regions escape persecution, bringing them to safety in host countries. We also help writers access legal advice, provide cash grants, assist with asylum requests, and run international campaigns on their behalf. Our small team continues to work tirelessly on complex and urgent cases, in countries whose governments seek to silence dissent and kill free expression.

We cannot do this crucial work without your help.
